Inventathon is a competition to create and pitch the best solution to a given medical need. The end product of our hackathons can be an app, device, website, conceptual drawing, or anything else that exemplifies the concept. Clinicians, Academics, and Technical Mentors will provide mentorship in areas such as device design, reimbursement, strategy, software development, and presentation. Judges will review the products and award $5,000 to the winning team.
Our March 2018 hackathon will be our fifth Inventathon (!) and we absolutely love putting it on. Every time we do, we strive to provide a fun environment that encourages innovation in healthcare as well as plant the early seeds of entrepreneurship. We all have to start somewhere. Come start with us!
The day before Inventathon kicks off (specifically March 2nd, 2018), we email our participants with a needs list as well as provide resources that allows our participants a hands-on exploration of opportunities to use Artificial Intelligence and/or Automation and related technologies to improve healthcare.
With the advent of increasing availability of big data, computing power, open API’s and machine learning tools, what was once considered science fiction is now available today. Our parents are always telling us that we're living in the future so how cool would it be if we made more of what they believed to be impossible possible?
So just for the weekend of March 3rd and 4th, 2018, you’ll have the opportunity to explore first-hand the following example applications with all of us:
Machine Learning for risk prediction & intervention
Deep Learning for drug discovery
Computer Vision for medical image interpretation
Chatbots for customer service
Intelligent Virtual Agents as care managers
Robots for hospital automation
Speech Recognition & Natural Language Processing to support caregivers
Not quite ready to spend the ENTIRE weekend with us? We get it. 3 hours volunteer blocks might be just enough time for us to get to know each other.
You're kind of a big deal. We can play it cool...So what are you doing the weekend of March 4th and 5th? Want to spend some time together and see what these crazy kids are working on?
